East Point Seafood makes its home in South Bend, WA – a small town, known as “the oyster capital of the world” located on the banks of the Willapa River. Erling Bendiksen purchased the cannery in 1942 and established East Point Seafood. East Point quickly gained a reputation for superb oyster, salmon, tuna, sturgeon, dungeness crab and shrimp products.

Joel Van Ornum started Dungeness Development Associates, Inc. in 1988 and later purchased East Point in 1997. Joel has continued East Point’s commitment to quality seafood products. East Point is the only processor of wild caught cold water Pacific tiny shrimp in the U.S. East Point now processes a variety of seafood products fresh, frozen and canned.

East Point is committed to environmental stewardship and nothing goes to waste in the canning process. Any remaining proteins are used for a nutrient rich organic plant fertilizer while the waste crab and shrimp shells are processed by Dungeness Environmental to make ChitoVan Chitosan.
